Police Record Requests
It is the practice of the Waupun Police Department to make our records as available to the public as possible. It is also the duty of the Police Department to protect the public from improper use of police records, and to deny those that fall under exceptions to the law. By completing the following information, we will attempt to accommodate you as quickly as possible.
While the general presumption is that public records are open to the public, certain limitations exist on the public's right to access. Access may be denied if:
- A clear statutory exception exists
- There exists a limitation under the common law
- The harm to the public interest from inspection outweighs the public interest in inspection
The following information is needed to process your request. You may fill this out and print it, or send it by clicking the send button. We will respond to you with an estimated cost of the record and the reasons it is to be denied if it is not able to be released.
