Fond du Lac County Executive

Whereas, Fond du Lac County Executive Allen Buechel was elected to the Office of County Executive on April 6, 2021, and passed away on March 27,
2022.
NOW, THEREFORE I, Lisa Freiberg, County Clerk of Fond du Lac County, pursuant to Wis. State Stat. § 59.17(7), order that a special election shall be held on June 7, 2022, to fill the unexpired vacancy for Fond du Lac County Executive. The term of office for County Executive will expire on the third Tuesday in April of 2025 (April 15, 2025). If a primary is necessary, it shall be held on May 10, 2022.
Circulation of nomination papers for candidates may begin today, March 30, 2022, and nomination papers shall be filed no later than 5:00 p.m. on April 12, 2022, in the Office of the Fond du Lac County Clerk, 160 S. Macy Street, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. These elections shall be held, conducted, canvassed, and returned in accordance to law.
NOW, THEREFORE IT BE ORDERED, that a Special Election for Fond du Lac County Executive be held on June 7, 2022 in Fond du Lac County.
