City of Waupun Lead Mechanic

Performs routine maintenance/repair, as well as major repairs on automobiles and heavy/light equipment.

Ability to operate heavy and light equipment for street reconstruction, snow removal, street sweeping and hauling debris, etc.

Duties also include, but are not limited to welding and fabrication, maintenance to city buildings, grounds, parks; and assist in snow removal.

Requires High school diploma or equivalent and completion of two years of technical training in Auto Technician and/or Diesel Mechanic from an approved technical training. Five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Valid commercial motor vehicle license with ABCD endorsements, with no air brake restrictions, and a good driving record.

May occasionally work night shift/weekends/overtime. Works under the general supervision of the Director of Public Works.
