Rendering Eagle Flexible Packaging Expansion

On Tuesday, January 14, 2025, Eagle Flexible Packaging, a Batavia, IL-based firm, announced plans to construct a new $5M, 52,000 square foot facility in the Waupun Industrial Park. At the January 14, 2025 meeting of the Waupun Common Council, Waupun’s elected officials approved a developer’s agreement to sell city-owned land to the company, paving the way for the proposed expansion to begin in early 2025.

Founded in 1994, Eagle Flexible Packaging is an innovative printer and converter of flexible packaging, specializing in preformed pouches, roll-fed film, roll stock with pre-applied zippers, and laminate structures. The company operates facilities in Batavia, IL and Waupun, WI and is committed to providing unparalleled quality products to their customers.  The company began operations in the City of Waupun in 2021, after acquiring a formerly shuttered production facility located at 4 Taylor St. Since opening their Waupun facility, employment has grown at the Waupun facility to its current total of sixty-five (65) people.  In 2024, Eagle Flexible Packaging acquired 1208 Wilson Drive in the Waupun Industrial Park and has invested more than $3M in that facility, including facility improvements and the addition of state-of-the-art graphics equipment to support continued growth in Waupun.

The planned expansion is expected to be substantially complete by the end of 2025 and paves the way for the addition of 30 to 40 new jobs, hired within 24 months of facility completion. According to Scott Deringer, COO for Eagle Flexible Packaging, future expansion plans call for a doubling of the current workforce over the next five years to support planned growth. Kathy Schlieve, City Administrator and Director of Economic Development for the City of Waupun stated, “Eagle Flexible Packaging has made consistent investment in the City of Waupun, bringing employment opportunities for residents and supporting community nonprofits and events since opening. The proposed project is well aligned with city goals to continue diversifying our economic base through expansion of the Waupun Industrial Park and we welcome the opportunity to partner with Eagle Flexible Packaging as they undertake this expansion in Waupun.” Information on job openings available at Eagle Flexible Packaging can be found by visiting https://www.eagleflexible.com/careers/#jobListings.
